Biography
Emperor
Emperor, despite his name, is a normal Imperial, simply born to a cynical mother fatigued by complicated funeral processions. He was born in an ice clan, specifically one highly favored in the eyes of the Icewarden Himself and placed in charge of a lot of dangerous prisoners. Emperor had always been stoic, stern, and organized, so his clan put him in charge of organizing the paperwork for said prisoners as he grew into an adult.
And he was good at it. He was dutiful, took his job seriously, and always checked and double-checked his work. Yes, every prisoner was accounted for, Mr. Icewarden, Sir. No, there were no missing prisoners, Mr. Icewarden, Sir. Yes, everything had been done to perfection, Mr. Icewarden, Sir. He was good at his job, and it was like the job had been made for him.
A single mistake ruined that. Emperor had been in a rush, and a paper slipped under the desk. He didn't notice, and just went on to report the usual to the Icewarden. Yes, Mr. Icewarden, Sir, everything was accounted for and done correctly. By the time Emperor realized his mistake, the Prisoner had escaped. Emperor was aghast and horrified, and packed his bags and fled, fearing his punishment from the Icewarden.
He fled from the cynical mother who had cursed him with his name, from the siblings he had hardly known, from the father and aunts and uncles who had encouraged all his dreams....All without a goodbye. There was no time for goodbyes when his freedom and life outside of a block of ice were on the line.
He found a new purpose in life when he came across the Clan of the Striking Bolt. Now, he had a loving mate: Shimmer. Now, he had a role as a royal advisor to Screechfang. Now, he had hatchlings, many of whom said their goodbyes and went off to serve the Stormcatcher. Now, he had a family and friends and a role that fit him just as well as the first had.
But he would never stop fearing his past might catch up with him. And much to his chagrin, it would, and it did.
