The Crags are brutal. That is no lie, no tale. It is fact.
But the presence of a dragon known as Grym is often debated in its truth.
They say Grym was one of the members of the old Clan Nufrost. An odd one, that dragon, who started life as a guardian and ended it a pearlcatcher. She never gave a reason for her transformation, and no one asked. But all knew it had been a painful one.
Grym, though odd, was a kind dragon. Her heart was far too large for her body, some claim. That she bit off far more than she can chew with those broken, crooked teeth. They say she feeds the beast that lies beneath the ice. What is that beast, you may ask? They say no more.
One thing is known: many dragons go missing in the Crags. As do many familiars and other creatures—no serthis nor centaur is safe. Grym is said to live in the bend of the kneeling crag, in a dark, damp cave carved out under the ice and snow. Rumors claim she "collects" lost souls—what she does with them, however, is debated. She steals them, some say. She heals them, others say. It is a mystery, and it is a mystery few are enthusiastic to solve themselves.
Did she save or doom the clan? No one is sure.
