Biography
Hatched in a long-forgotten lair, underground and undersea yet not in shadow. Clambered to the surface, following the distant call of the sun, unsatisfied with the inexplicable light-source below. Journeyed up winding staircases and through pathways so untouched that my toes left neat, solitary footprints in the fine dust. For days I climbed, past the lairs of monsters and through the lairs of other dragons, until I made it to the top.
When I finally broke through loamy soil into canopy-filtered sunlight, it was not far from this very spot. Frantic efforts were made to patch the large hole I'd left behind, and that sufficed as my welcome to this remarkable place.
I had never before felt the grass between my toes or seen a leaf with my own eyes. I was so accustomed to the stagnant air of my ancient home that the scent of so many flowers was both a delight and affront to my senses.
The seasons remain a novelty. Other dragons...remain a mystery to me.
After so long alone down there alone, I've got a lifetime of habits and behaviour to both learn and unlearn. Language proves difficult, but doable. I had ample opportunity to read, and even brought some of my favourite books with me, along with a few other small trinkets.
Though, apparently, some of these trinkets are ancient, with great historical or cultural significance. I am often faced with questions I cannot answer.
