Unlike many who reside within this clan of outcasts, the world that Crispin was born into was one in which he was wanted. His childhood was filled with bright opportunity and a love that most could only dream of. As the only born Wildclaw of his siblings, his mother was naturally drawn to him, while his Coatl father felt more drawn to the others. There was no lack of affection from his father, but less of an understanding for his breed than his Wildclaw mother obviously had. BlackFlame ensured that he was well provided for and given the best care and education that could be provided. Many of their days were spent wandering the woodlands, listening to the Gladekeeper's whispers as the wind danced with the leaves of the trees. It was home, and Crispin never wished to leave.

As he grew and his siblings left the lair in order to better themselves and rise to greater success, Crispin began to feel as though he were wasting the opportunities that his parents had prepared him to pursue. At first, he attempted to find proper work and purpose within his birth clan, but it quickly became a apparent that while he was well liked by his clan, he was not needed.
