» Overview «

Cathartes made his way to the Vorticity Nexus shortly after the clan began a period of rapid growth. He'd heard rumors on the outskirts of the Shifting Expanse of an unconditional sanctuary; a home for the weary and forgotten. And if there's one thing that Cathartes was, it was weary. His long life as a warrior for his past clan left him scarred and disillusioned with his commander, and he was ready to retire.

Clanless and living a nomadic existence, Cathartes felt the heavy weight of all his
years weighing down his old bones. And then one day...a pull. Like a hook beneath his sternum, urging him ever onward. Wise enough to be wary, but exhausted enough to set aside his doubts, Cathartes followed that call deep into the harsh dunes of the Charged Barrens. Between one breath and the next a gateway appeared out of the mirage haze and he found himself face to face with the Guardians of the Nexus.

Since joining the clan, Cathartes has taken on the role of Clan Elder, serving as an advisor to the leadership of the Nexus and a stern, yet gentle tutor to aspiring warriors within its borders. While he may no longer be the oldest member of the clan, he still serves his community as an advisor and valued member of the coliseum warriors.

Few dragons in the Nexus share his mastery of combat and even less possess the hard-earned wisdom of when to exert those skills. If you wish to challenge him, be warned: those who doubt his skill in battle due to his blinded eye and advanced age quickly learn the error of their ways.
