Garmana’s egg, abandoned in the dunes of the Shifting Expanse, was found by enterprising factory workers. They took her in along with other abandoned eggs and hatchlings and raised her to work on the Lightning Farm.
While her hatchlinghood saw her performing menial tasks and running messages across the plateaus, as she aged she revealed an innate talent for manipulating metal with both her claws and with magical abilities. At her request, her employers moved her to a factory where she manufactured metal parts of machinery.
Despite enjoying the opportunity to work with metal, Garmana found herself dissatisfied with the constant noisiness of the factory and the meagre conditions. She had a peculiar dream: to return to her ancestral homeland, and to live a way of life closer to the snow and the ground beneath her feet.
