Gaesorix was born in the Sunbeam Ruins to a farming family. After his clan was displaced by archaeological digs, he turned to thieving and banditry to continue to provide for his family. His actions against neighbors and travelers alike soon grew so bold that his clan exiled him. Abandoned, he was quick to organize and lead a pack of fellow raiders, accepting them as his new family. They roved the Sunbeam Ruins for many seasons and spent much of their time looting ruins and plundering the stores of settled clans.
One day, a vicious disagreement broke out among Gaesorix’s raiding pack regarding the allotment of goods won from their latest raid. The few survivors took their winnings and went their separate directions.
Gaesorix, welcome nowhere in the Sunbeam Ruins, was drawn to his ancestral homeland and headed southwest towards the Southern Icefield. He robbed and traded for supplies until he finally reached the Snowsquall Tundra. He continued to walk for days, following a mysterious instinct, when he finally came upon a clan located at the feet of a conspicuous snow-covered hill. He knew this was his destiny.
He entered the longhouse of the chieftain, Iberos, and challenged him to a fight for control of the clan. Iberos, the elder and more experienced dragon, was reluctant to fight the younger warrior, but agreed. Iberos quickly knocked the inexperienced Gaesorix onto his back, but left him alive. Gaesorix slinked away with a bruised ego.
He camped out nearby in the wilderness for months, occasionally getting into scraps with Iberos’s scouts. He meditated on old, forbidden, deities; he hunted for his sustenance and tested his resilience.
When the time was right, he returned to Iberos’s longhouse and challenged him once more. Gaesorix bested Iberos with no struggle. As Iberos had done to him, Gaesorix spared the loser; Gaesorix demanded an oath of loyalty and servitude, and took his place as clan chieftain.
Shortly after gaining the clan, Gaesorix found himself entirely smitten with the itinerant metalworker Garmana. A surprisingly effortful courtship resulted in the marriage and subsequent co-ruling of the two.
