Shadeslayer Order | Inquisitor

"The Enemy cares nothing for the lives of mortals, nor our livelihoods. That is why we must be diligent."

At their inception, the Wardens of the Lamp emphasized caution and forbearance among their ranks, only seeking out and destroying those Shade-touched threats which could not be otherwise contained. If a dragon were Shade-touched, so long as they proved sane, and bore their fellow dragons no ill-will, they would be left in peace. In time, a small subset of the Wardens would reject the lenience of their forebears. They named themselves the Shadeslayers, and broke off from their former allies, vowing to eradicate every last trace of the Shade, regardless of the innocence of its vessels.

Shadeslayer Orsanct is only one of their number, a passionate and dogmatic proponent of the total eradication policy. Though of no great rank, he is infamous for pioneering the Sacred Brand, a method of persuasion devised to separate the Shade from its host through torture. He can often be found prowling the empty streets at night- sometimes, not even the city's protective sacridite lanterns are enough to keep the Enemy at bay.

ors ・sanct - sworn helm

-over 20m long; the scale of this man
-unnervingly sneaky for a big fella
-dried flowers + candles mask his scent from the restless dead and ward off evil spirits
-tapetum lucidum like some kind of feral beast
-"he would be handsome if he weren't such a brute", quoth Sonnehilde
-refused the Search; instead focuses that energy into eradicating shades
-fake affect of nobility; no one really knows what he did before shadeslaying
-will never admit it but he loves yhoram like a son. he RAISED that stupid kid
