Hatched from an abandoned egg, Kald’s lack of history to remember for his ancestors made him feel out of place among the other Tundras in the clan. In an effort to discover who his family was, Kald accompanied Shevr on a harrowing journey to the Fortress of Ends. Though Shevr did not make it, Kald swore to the Icewarden that he would remember Shevr’s story and tell it for all time. In commendation for his championing of memory, the Icewarden sent him home with a bundle of pine branches - which Kald believes smell like the Icewarden. |

I'm too lazy to write an actual story so here, have a nice little bullet-pointed list of the most important parts of this story.
- Opening with Radek waking up in the guest burrow of the Wentr clan. It’s summer, so it’s not as cold as it could be… but most of the guests are not naturally dressed for the weather. Their host, Kald, is trying to accommodate for their less-furry guests - particularly a Guardian named Lightning and her Fae companion Hydra.
- Radek is just floored when his boss, Mere, offers for the Fae to use his mane until something more agreeable turns up. Is Mere… trying to flirt? Tides know he’s awful at it, but still… Hydra flatly turns him down.
- Lightning, Hydra, and Soren are here to help the clan with a wolf problem. The Wentr clan has a few warriors, but not many. Meanwhile Mere and Radek are here to explore some ruins that might have some valuable ancient tech inside. We agree to travel together as far as we can for protection.
- But Mere talks to Hydra the whole way. Or, rather, tries. Hydra is the opposite of interested.
- They split up, with Radek, Mere, and Kald heading to the mountain wherein there’s supposed to be an old ruin. On the way, Radek presses Mere for information on why he’s acting so odd. It eventually comes out that Mere thinks the Fae is cute. And he kind of likes her flat sarcasm. But he always falls for dumb Faes.
- Even though that’s incredibly rude to say, Radek doesn’t care because he knows Mere’s just feeling socially inadequate. Radek has decided he’s going down with this ship and tells Mere to just tell her he’s interested and see what happens. That’s what he does.
- That’s what you do??
- Anyways, so yeah, Kald agrees with Radek, but probably just because he wants to see what happens when this Tundra he’s known for three days falls flat on his face - because it’s jus that obvious that’s what he does all the time.
- Kald helps us forage up some neat tech and we head back.
- On the way, we run into the three dragons we left out there severely injured from their battle with the wolves. Even though it’s bright out, the sun’s gonna go down soon. Hydra grudgingly agrees to take a ride in Mere’s mane. Perhaps only because both Lightning and Soren are like, “Look, if I were a Fae, I’d do it.”
- We help them back, tend their wounds. Kald is like, “You know, I like you guys. You’re welcome back to my otherwise empty and cold burrow anytime.”
- We split paths, and Mere didn’t say anything to Hydra in time… but just as they’re about to fly off toward Wind territory, he manages to tell her he hopes they meet again. Hydra, to everyone’s surprise, thinks that wouldn’t be terrible.
- Radek makes fun of Mere for it all the way back to their lab in Lightning.
