______ Despite not being one for fatherhood, Awyn's sire always had lessons to share with her- long-winded ones, about the economy. From treasure and gem exchange rates to auction house trends to even hatchling adoption fees, Joel imparted his knowledge upon his daughter, who absorbed as much as she possibly could before she was shooed away by her father's flight buddy. Most important to Joel, and eventually Awyn, was the value of gold: it was a reliable investment and one of the foundations of Sorneith's monetary system, in treasure form. Gold was the lifeblood of the economy, of Sorneith, he stressed, and Tara took it to heart.

______ With her sire's lengthy lessons and her mother's light-fingered ways influencing her, Awyn decided the best way to earn treasure was through scams and schemes, preying on the gullible and trusting of Sorneith in the auction house and the marketplace. Stolen or worthless items, if talked up properly, made piles of treasure or even gems, and Awyn was the best, almost poetic in her pitches. With a bright smile and some sweet words, she can almost anything to anyone, and is usually long gone before her ruse is discovered.
