There's an evil on this swamp that even the most staunch and bloodthirsty pirates have come to fear.

MJust beyond the friendly atmosphere of The Tribe lies a darker swamp. Full of witches and pirates and dragons who ought to be left alone, the swamp is a section of the forest even the beastclans avoid. Brave hatchlings who ventured near the perimeters tell of ghosts and bats and wandering trees, and fog so thick even the swamp appears white. But for Ursa it is home. Born in the Tribe Grounds with her brother, Ursa was often visited by her father, who often took them on his varied wanderings. Often she would be drawn to the swamp despite her mother's warnings. When a lack of perception on her part caused her brother to drown and disappear, she took it upon herself to banish herself to the swamp, where she wouldn't harm another hatchling. Ursa is the unofficial leader of the group of dragons that live there, though she still obeys Modremoth. Despite being young, she commands herself with an eerie power that makes even the most foolish quieten down and listen to her. Ursa practices in Voodoo, an ancient magic that connects death and life. As such, she is very familiar with Elysia, Myopia, Lilith and Seb, who often take solace in her swamp. She channels her spirits with the use of her windchimes, which sing wistful songs throughout the dense swamp. As well as her spirit, Ursa also practices in the art of poisonmaking, often sharing her experiences and findings with Maple, the ""Village Witch"". Ursa lives in a shack that belonged to ancient people. Fixing up the remains and making it waterproof took some time, and took the help of her neurotic cousin, who now lives in the back, to make it hospitable. Cabbage, her pet croc, is devoted to her. He often patrols the swamp with her, keeping to the waters while she walks above. She doesn't like to divulge on how she keeps Cabbage so well fed, but no one cares to mention how chubby Cabbage seems to be getting lately. A recent discovery of the Bogsneak species has resulted in a bubbly, yet mentally damaged sneak living with her. Nicknaming her slug, Ursa keeps her safe from the other, less amicable members of the Swamp. Ursa only cares to use her magic on those that truly need it. She has no use for money, and will turn away customers despite their efforts getting to her.

A flash, a gasp, a pregnant pause. Wisps of smoke delicately trace the edges of the puppet as it dances. Twisting, writhing, in a tangled rite of agony, the bone feet scrape along rotten wood. Clicking, clacking, the doll holds the audience in awe. invisible strings pull it jerkily around in a grotesque manner as banjo strings play. Padded feet beat the ground behind it as a pearlcatcher twirls, baring legs of muscle and scars. Body paint over markings glow, giving the illusion of see-through skin. Rumours flew through the crowd like crows; "necromancer," they hissed. Fear ripples through the crowd as green smoke begins to billow. Shadows dance upon the wall as the pearlcatcher melts, wisps peeling off her and scattering. But still the puppet dances. The daring ones hoot and cheer, while the new attendants cower. Children cover their eyes, and scream as a shadow beckons. Delicate hands, clawlike, tear the air to ribbons while they cry. And still the banjo plays. The crowd sits, mesmerized as the dance continues. The doll twists coyly, enticing the crowd to look upon it once more. A silence. The banjo stills, caught on its last twang. The puppet freezes and falls, a pile of bones once more. The pearlcatcher is gone. The bones begin to crumble. The crowd pauses, in awe and uncertainty. It doesn't take long for them to pat their wallet-less pockets. Oh, what a show, indeed.
