Biography

Tybalt

Tybalt has always lived a simple if lonely life atop a mountain in the southern ice fields. He could subsist easily on the bits of nearby grass that grew there and rarely did the growing conflict reach his home. It was a peaceful, if occasionally frustrating existence, but he was a patient one. Someday something would change.

One day, a Fae wandered into his lair, cold and shivering. Being of the agreeable sort, he offered her shelter. She smelled familiar, and he reminded her that they knew each other, even if he couldn't quite remember. She didn't seem to remember him either, but quickly buried herself within his furry coat for warmth. They talked, and he found himself taking a liking to her as he had no other before her. Lyssa had ambitions and dreams. The kind that might make one leave a peaceful place. Eventually, she grew tired and slept. She did not leave in the morning, even after he offered her what she needed to move on in her travels. Thinking she might be afraid, he escorted her to Star Fall Isles. It was a sight to behold.

It soon became apparent to him that the little Fae had wanted more than an escort to her homeland. She started searching for a lair, occasionally asking opinions if he liked this place or that. Slightly nervous, he would answer, all the while wondering if he would really stay in this strange if magical place. They found a cozy lair, enough for them and few younglings besides. She was so happy. He couldn't tell her that he didn't plan to stay. He never left. Unfortunately, his thick woolly coat and large build was not ideal for the constantly changing environment of these isles. Lyssa heard his concerns and gave him the means to change his form. Soon after, he found he missed his fur coat and took to wearing a cape that billowed in the wind when he flew. He often zipped around Starfall looking after his mate and children as they brewed their unearthly concoctions. This happiness did not last.

Not long after they started their little clan, there were troubling whispers of others who wished to harm his mate. Knowing little of the world of politics, he decided to seek the advice of his dear friend Lumen. He reassured him that all Lyssa needed was a strong group of warriors that could protect her from those who'd like to see her dethroned. Tybalt happily requested that Lumen become such a bodyguard. He reluctantly accepted his friends offer on the condition that the clan move to the Windsinger's domain where he could better fulfill his duty. Tybalt readily agreed and asked him if he could train him as well so he could better defend his lady love should the worst happen. He hoped he would never have to resort to violence, but one day, the world changed, and his family was threatened. He had two choices, remain pure and trust these wicked beings that his ancestors had dedicated their lives to eradicating or risk his family paying the price in blood. In the end, he could not watch his family fall to ruin and became known as the slayer of ancients among his clan.

And yet, he sobbed and grieved for them as if he'd slayed his own kin. He could not bring himself to slay their hatchlings and allowed them to stay in the outskirts of the clan where they posed less of a threat to the rest of his charges. With a heavy heart, for a time, he returned to the cold in all it's harsh beauty and sharpened his claws, awaiting the next threat. He did not expect to find allies instead.
