Neptune has always been a quiet and reserved individual, keeping to himself and his hobbies. It saves him time and effort, since he doesn't see drama and arguments all that fun to get into. The young man actually has quite a distaste or those who are over dramatic or seek to cause trouble.

Though he's never been one to stand up for others in a fight or an argument, his petite size and shy personality keeping him an onlooker to most events. Other than his drawing skills, Neptune doesn't have much going for him. He himself is extraordinarily strong, his magic is basic at best and not very potent at all. Worst of all, he doesn't even know how to defend himself properly, so if he ever did get dragged into a fight. The poor man would get his arse kicked.

He's at his best and perhaps safest just being the person he is, instead of trying to be what someone else thinks he should be. Yeah, his wife is the one who steps up for him most the time. Sure he doesn't read very well. You're damn right he's a short cinnamon roll. But he draws the best maps in Sorenith, there isn't a place on the planet he doesn't know of and couldn't produce a schematic for. Art is what he lives for and if you give him crap for it, he'll be more than happy to humiliate you with pointed, passive aggressive sarcasm.

Neptune's origins really aren't anything note worthy. A poor kid born to a poor family in some backwater town no one ever hears about. His parents barely ever had enough money to pay their ills, it's a miracle they managed to keep themselves fed let alone their son. Missing a few meals helped them with that though, always putting their son before themselves. Making sure he had the best life they could provide.

Never nagging the boy about his gentle and soft spoken nature, never disappointment in his interest in clubs rather than sports in school. Truthfully they were ecstatic about their son's flying performance in the arts. Framing his awards and even his artwork when they could afford it.

It was never about the material things, Neptune was just happy that they loved him as much as he loved them. He swore one day he'd make it big and that he could take care of his parents worries, that some day he'd be some big shot artist. Neptune laughs to himself now about having such dreams, whether its out of a pang of regret or genuine amusement for his naivety is hard to tell.

As he never made it big, sure what art he makes now, especially his maps bring in decent chunk of money. But no where near what some hot shot would make, Neptune will always be thankful for the pencils and paper his parents could supply him to satisfy his love of drawing. Sitting on the porch and scribbling down how the sunset reflected off everything it touched. The noises of the evening animals cheering him on, moments like those are things Neptune will always look back fondly on.

He wouldn't change a thing about his life, even the bitterness of the medical bills neither him nor his mother could pay. The treatment his father needed, but couldn't afford. Spending every waking moment with his father up until the evening he passed. Comforting his mother and drawing the flowers that grew by their house. Barrying his father by hand under the old weeping willow his parents married under. Doing the same for his mother late that winter, finally deciding it was time to journey elsewhere.

Neptune kept the house in his name, returning to occasionally. Finally being able to get his art out to more circulated public, backwater towns are peaceful, but there not the best place to make your big break from. Finally being able to afford proper supplies and earn a respectable living. Returning to his parents graves to give them proper markers and flowers that would bloom yearly and eventually take over where they lay.

Neptune has his regrets, still does and always will. But, he hopes he's become someone that his family would be proud of.
