As smoke rises to the vaulted ceilings of his chambers, beams of sun playing off their twirling shapes, a voice will reach out to you when you least expect it.
It is not always spoken. Sleepy golden eyes peer in no general direction before falling to you, lips pursed to exhale another thick stream of billowing smoke. Briefly, something gleams above his head, but it is too quick to catch with your attention on those piercing eyes. Was it a halo...? Perhaps. Finally, the figure draped so lazily across his nest of pillows works his way to his feet. His robes are far too large for his tiny form, body pale and dappled with discoloration that is larger patches of his naturally tan skin peering through. He wiggles his toes below him, yawns widely, and saunters closer with steps that jingle crisply thanks to a multitude of silver jewelry everywhere he can fit it. "I said...what is your wish?" Wish. Did you come here with one in mind? Confusion etched easily across your face, he reads it oh so easily. His smile, though tired looking, holds all the coolness of a snake's. "Oh. You haven't one? Well, I'll just have to help you figure it out, then--won't we?" There's a venom dripping in those honey-sweet words, drying out your throat and mouth immediately. There's something strange about this man, but you can't quite put your finger on it. But surely, an oracle of the Path of Light wouldn't harm you...would he? "Come, come. My sweet Eron is kind, but he gets very impatient, you see...? Come, now..." his voice soothes. You move forward. You don't remember willing yourself to do so.  Image by Roserayne |
