Raised in a family that treasured their military ranks, Chiron was groomed from birth to be a soldier. It was his single calling, the only thing he truly knew how to do was fight and train himself how to fight. The result was a young man who was focused and driven by the honor he could bring to his family. Chiron was so single-minded in this focus that he lost many along the way. Friends did not only leave him because of their deaths on the battlefield, he found himself in a situation where he was (simply) a hard man to deal with. Chiron Avoi was hard to get along with. As loyal as he was, he was just abrasive and obsessed with his work.

In a way that was his downfall. He began to fight violently, and then he leaned into brutal fighting styles of the barbarians that they sometimes crossed paths with. He believed, strongly, that his anger was a blade that he could wield. However he was a man of volatile temper already, and when one of his Generals decided to stain what he believed was the appropriate honor, Chiron leaped into combat with him and killed him.

The result was several men of his company--his closest friends--falling as they tried to fail him and Chiron, to his shame, being forced to flee. Dishonored and wanted dead, Chiron took to the road as an adventurer. He was half certain that he deserved nothing more than death. He had murdered a man in the heat of the moment, no matter the blood staining his hands there was no doubt that he had shamed the Avoi family with his temper.

He surprised himself by meeting a band of adventurers and then, quickly, adopting them as his family. Chiron had always been a straight-forward, if hyper-focused, man. He grew to love these people, and this became his highest honor. Protect and defend them with his life, and use the very same temper that had murdered a man to leap to their aid should it be required.

If Chiron had been told that he would find another family when he was young he would have scoffed. But some things can not be predicted, and sometimes those things are the greatest one can have.
