Tess
Exalt Priestess

 Tess always felt it deep in her bones; a voice so sheer and terrifying in power but gentle and loving as well. Since she was a hatchling, Tess could always hear the Gladekeeper's voice. Her claims of hearing the Gladekeeper brought Tess ridicule from the other young dragons. They didn't believe her and when she continued to insist that she wasn't lying, that she could hear and feel the Gladekeeper, the others ignored her. Her childhood was lonely but she was never truly alone. Tess still had her mother, Achemea, who believed in her wholeheartedly. Achemea, in all her wisdom, helped ease her worries and reassure her that she was okay. Her father, Fenwick, gave her all the hugs she asked of him and confided in him her fears. And her other siblings that Achemea adopted; they weren't scared of her and gave Tess the solid reassurance she needed. Aside from the clan leader, Mint, Tess never felt a need to connect with the other members of the clan. She had her family and she had the Gladekeeper's presence in her mind. |

She wasn't surprised when she felt the Gladekeeper's voice within another. Tess couldn't explain it but when she laid eyes upon the children of Mint, she knew they were meant to be with the Gladekeeper. After months of no longer questioning why she heard the Gladekeeper presence, of accepting Her presence within her, Tess knew her exact purpose. She was meant to lead those who wished to be exalted into the Gladekeeper's embrace. Tess was never terrified of exaltion like some of the other dragons. She even once made the decision to go deep within the forest, to head where she could serve the Gladekeeper but the Gladekeeper told her stop. It wasn't her time to join. As Tess stared at Mint's children, she understood why she was stopped. And Tess was glad. She could help those who wished to be exalted. To ease their mind and guide them to the Gladekeeper's warm embrace. So Tess waited. Those who didn't wish to be exalted were not forced in to it. Only the willing went. And when they were ready, Tess would help them find their way to their Gladekeeper. |
