Biography

Achemea
tumblr_inline_o21bmtn7Oz1r3lvtf_500.png
Achemea wished traveling would have curbed her sense of wanderlust. Maybe a few seasons, traveling throughout Sornieth, would have been enough to appease her. She visited many different clans, traveled with friends from different flights, and often stayed with a clan for a couple of weeks at a time. She missed her birthclan but not even remotely enough to head back home.

What she did miss was caring for the nursery. The sight of fumbling newborns made her smile and throughout her travels, without fail, she would visit their nursery. If Achemea was allowed to, she offered her help with looking after them. She would readily admit that hatchlings were her weakness.

It may have been that weakness or Achemea could have felt a tinge of loneliness during her travels, but when a handsome Tundra named Fenwick joined her for awhile, she found that she enjoyed his company more than the others she traveled had with. He was a bit hesitant to talk at first but after a few days, he slowly opened up. He was charming and had a polite smile that sometimes didn't quite reach his eyes. There was a story there but she didn't pry. Nevertheless, she was attracted to him.

What started as a conversation led to a kiss and when the morning came and Fenwick was next to her, she was glad for his company. And she could sense the feeling was mutual, even when Fenwick confirmed his feelings for her. She could sense it in the air, the way the feeling wrapped around him.

And, although she wasn't prepared for it, the day she realized she would be having hatchlings of her own, she was glad. And the look on Fenwick's face, the happiness that radiated off him, made her feel secure in herself.

Together, they traveled and what started as a journey of one, became a family of 5 when her children were born; Wick, Cobalt, and Tess. With Fenwick by her side and her kids with them, they traveled through new clans and revisited favorite locations to show to her children throughout the many months together.

Eventually, her kids went their separate ways. Cobalt found a home with a clan within the water flight and Wick was called to the Gladekeeper's side. Tess decided to travel with her father when Fenwick brought up that he had to go his separate way for awhile. Achemea was disheartened that he wouldn't be by her side but she was not saddened by the news. She knew he would return to her, and if the situation were flipped, she would return to him.

So she watched her two loves walk off together and when she couldn't see them anymore, she turned and went her own way as well. Sornieth was massive and she knew there was still much to see. And that made her eager and excited to see what each day would bring her.

The day she came upon the Orphange was a day she would never forget.

The appearance looked genuine but she sensed a malicious tint to the air. The was a Mirror guarding the entrance who warily eyed her. Achemea paced around, feeling for anything more conclusive. It could just be a dragon that was around with a bad disposition. It didn't necessarily mean it came from the orphanage.

Then she smelled the hint of blood and nothing was going to stop her from barging in.

What she saw horrified her, the overwhelming hopelessness nearly suffocated her. There were hatchlings with bruised body and who were obviously malnourished. When she tried to approach them, as slowly and as reassuring and non-threatening she could be, they quivered and hid. None of them dared meet her eyes.

If anyone asked, Achemea couldn't say what happened afterwards. She could only say that the dragons who ran the sham of an orphanage would never harm another hatchling again.

"Little ones, please," She spoke to the small group of hatchlings, settling down on the ground as she tried to make herself appear smaller. "They will never, never hurt you again. Would you tell me your names?"

It was silent for a moment until a young brown-rippled Tundra bravely walked up to her, "Silabus." He said, staring her in the eyes. Achemea wanted to weep; there were scars all over his body. A speckled guardian joined Silabus, warily eyeing Achemea.

"They're dead."

Achemea nodded, "If I could kill them twice, I would. Nothing will ever hurt you."

"And you expect us to believe you?" The young Guardian said, challenging her. Silabus looked terrified, slightly pressing himself closer to his friend.

"I do not," She said. "If you give me the chance, I want to earn your trust. Come with me. There is a clan nearby where I have a temporary home. The young ones behind you are barely older than a week." Silabus looked back at the young Nocturne, Coatl, and Pearlcatcher. The Nocturne slowly walked forward, eyes on the ground as he sat beside Silabus. The other two stayed huddled together.

"And if we refuse?"

"Thayn!"

The Guardian, Thayn, ignored him, keeping his glare focused on Achemea.

Achemea smiled gently, "Then I will follow you instead from a distance. I will watch over you until you are well grown and able to defend yourself. No matter what, I will not leave you."

"No matter what?" Thayn asked.

"No matter what."

"Will it be warm?" It was the little Nocturne that spoke. He still didn't meet her eyes but his head was facing her direction.

"What's your name, little one?"

"...Iori."

"Iori, darling, I will wrap you against my wings so tightly that not even the Icewarden's cold will touch you."

Iori was silent for a moment and Thayn and Silabus seemed to be waiting on his response. Eventually, Iori nodded and slowly scuttled towards her. Achemea couldn't help the smile as she flattened one of her wings on the ground, helping Iori up onto her back. She looked to the others.

"I'm not breaking up the set. We can find a cave to sleep in together or we can go to the home I have nearby. The choice is ultimately yours."

She waited. Silabus and Thayn huddled together, whispering and occasionally looking back at Achemea. After several minutes, they both nodded and ushered the Coalt and Pearlcatcher towards her. They helped the two younger ones onto her back and then climbed on themselves. Once they were settled, she rose and started to walk out of the orphanage. She looked over her shoulder and looked at Thayn and Silabus.

"Thank you for giving me this chance, Thayn, Silabus."

Joining Clan Aruna

The clan she brought her adopted hatchlings was more of a gathering than a clan. The leader, a Tundra named Mint, formed his little newfound clan near the Shrieking Wilds and the Gladeveins with the massive Guardian that followed him. How they managed to find such a secluded but wide expansive land, with a beautiful sight to the shore, Achemea couldn't fathom but it was lovely. Her adopted children quickly took to the open place and it didn't take long for her to decided she wanted to join this new clan.

"Mint, I would like to stay with your clan." She said to him while they were out gathering plants. Thayn and Silabus were further along ahead, teaching Iori, Remi, and Akakii which plants were the tastiest.

"It's more of a group than a clan at this point." He said with a light chuckle.

"But it will be eventually." She said, looking at him. "It'll be a loving clan and if you would allow me, I would like to join."

Mint stammered, unsure how to reply back. He looked around him, spotting Dawn off in the distance gathering wood. She was too far for Mint to call out to.

"If.. if you want to, I would... yeah," Mint tried to sound formal, like what a leader would probably say but it was stiff and awkward and he gave up, looking up at her with a shy smile. "I'd be happy if you stayed."

"Excellent!" She said. "If you haven't given it a thought yet, I'm thinking of running the nursery."

At once, Mint stiffened, looking away from Achemea's gaze. She sensed the fear in him and was quick to gather Mint up against her, wings enclosing around Mint's body. She already knew why he reacted this way and she's traveled long enough with Mint and Dawn to know what to do in cases like this, when the panic seized him completely. Feeling encased and warm calmed Mint down.

"It won't happen like last time," She said in her calming voice. "The nursery, the daycare, all of the hatchlings that will be born in this clan will be safe."

"You don't... that's... it can happen..." His words and body trembled.

"I won't promise that it won't happen. It would be foolish of me. But I can swear to protect the future hatchlings until my last breath."She said with such determination. "I happen to know that Silabus and Thayn share my sentiment. We'll raise these hatchlings to the best of what we're capable of."

"You can believe in Achemea," Thayn spoke up, walking up to them with Iori riding atop his head, clinging to his horns. "She's freakishly strong,"

Achemea threw Thayn a look but it got what he wanted; Mint chuckled and he slowly started to relax, going through his breathing exercises.

"We'll have a nursery so well protected and loved, Mint. This, I can promise."
