Though she seems sure of herself, Echinacea is plagued by a sense of foreboding. She came to Vellinym because it is believed the Shade may be present nearby, but so far she has found no evidence to support this. Still, she knows it's out there. Somewhere.

The unending wait has made Echinacea nervous that she was wrong, or worse, that she's missing something very important. When she can no longer bear her doubt, she seeks out the Swamp Witch, Sahatsak, to have her fortune told. So far the witch has seen nothing of the Shade in her future, and her visits leave her reassured that she hasn't overlooked anything and that it's just a matter of time. She must be patient and remain vigilant.
