Malygin

Cutthroat matchmaker and self-proclaimed aesthete Malygin arranges most of the mating pairs for the Glacialist clan. He regards beauty as the highest virtue and pays no heed to the feelings of those he pairs up. This practice is not as ill-regarded as it might be in other clans, since the Glacialist clan has long regarded romantic love as being entirely separate from mating duties -- regardless of who one is mated with, one may love whomever one wishes. Thus, most dragons in the clan regard Malygin as no more than a pompous nuisance, and some even appreciate his aesthetic input.

Malygin sometimes ventures out into the world in search of particularly stunning dragons, whom he then offers large bribes to join the clan (much to the chagrin of the clan's treasurer, Camilla). When he does, he is invariably accompanied by the wild, fearsome, and irredeemably silly Mirror, Mox, whose antics Malygin restrains and whose company he not-so-secretly adores.

Ironically, this matchmaker refuses to mate himself. Ostensibly this is because he has never been able to find a suitable mate for himself. However, there's some whispering among the clan that the real reason is that, for all his talk, Malygin is unwilling to mate with anyone other than the love of his life -- and the love of his life is none other than the decidedly male Mox.
