Hapax

Hapax Legomenon is as fearsome in his pursuit of knowledge as his Mirror brethren are in the pursuit of flesh. His area of interest is languages of the Second Age. He spends much of his time hunting down inscriptions from that era, intent on acquiring any that are small enough to transport back to his clan's lair by whatever means necessary, and making careful copies of the rest. If said inscriptions already have owners, he has no compunctions about resorting to theft or violence in order to bring them into his own possession.

The rest of his time is devoted to intense study of the data he has acquired. He hopes to someday be able to perfectly translate any and all texts from these little-understood languages. He is convinced that he has come across several unique insights into these languages, and frequently gets into fierce arguments with other scholars in his own field over minutia of vocabulary and syntax.

Hapax and his mate Antiphona make for a fearsome and overbearing pair. Antiphona sees Hapax's studies as being nearly as worthy as her own endeavors, and often accompanies him on his hunts for artifacts. When they are not abroad on one of their hunts, they spend more time with Chalcolith in his dwelling near his charge, the ruins of a Second Age temple, than they do in the lair of the Glacialist clan.
