Alessi was born into the world of Sornieth in an abandoned nest, the eggshells of his nest-mates long gone cold and lifeless. His very first brush of friendship came by the form of a striped feline, her eyes of green wide and inquisitive as she eyed the hatchling whose nest she had decided to spend the night with. When dawn broke and the cat roused to leave, Alessi stumbled after her on stumpy hatchling legs. And when noon came round and Alessi was still stubbornly albeit already weakly following, the cat finally gave in and adopted him as her own. Having no allegiance to any deity nor having any clan mates to influence him, Alessi grew to be versatile in both magic and melee. He wandered throughout Sornieth, eager to learn and assimilate all manner of spells into his repertoire. However, it was while crossing The Shifting Expanse that his entire being changed. Unfamiliar with the territory and environment, he had no knowledge that the great spires jutting into the sky were to attract the never-ending lightning arcing across the skies. He should have died. Should have. Instead, something in his make was altered and jolts of electricity began to dance within him. He was changed irreparably. A scouting pack found his broken, maimed body lying on the ground and took him back to the Tempest Spire. There, they tried to nurse him back to health but were distracted and fascinated when they found multiple currents |

coursing throughout his body. Deciding that he was far too gone to be brought back whole, they began crafting a cybernetic augmentation for him, filling in and healing the deepest of wounds. Then they gave him a means to control this new transformation in him by wiring the new parts directly to his spine.
The next few months were spent in intensive therapy during which he found that wielding spells of Lightning became second nature to him. To further enhance his abilities, he requested runes engraved onto the metal platings of his armor. Runes which lit up when activated so he could construct his own spells. To store his "code", he constructed a miniature golem as a portable memory device, blasting forth bolts of data to be saved as needed. As a more permanent storage for his ever growing collection of spells, a rare scroll case sling he had won through a hard, lengthy and almost lethal battle was utilized. Not long after, The Search came upon him. Not knowing what it was but feeling it deeply and instinctively, his wanderlust grew more frantic much to the annoyance of his now lifelong feline companion. His vast travels eventually led him deep within the Plaguebringer's domain where he came across Ciana. The two bonded, with him instinctively recognizing the petite Skydancer as his chosen Charge. |
