SPACE

 She was once a swordsmith. A legend cased in ice. Afflicted with a disease that ate away the flesh, her body was hidden under layers of black, oinment-coated cloth. But one day, for some unknown reason, she suddenly ceased in her craft, and went into hermitage,

Years later she reappeared, unrecognisable. Immense cold had frozen and killed her disease. Bar the scars, she was cured. As quickly as she had appeared, she left, travelling east.

She is here now. No more than a phantom. A sleepwalker.

that persephone will return to hades for
the winter. when you love the sun,
you forget that you are ice, and he will melt you.
when you build him a palace, he
will take it and leave you nothing behind,
a shell of snow filling with water until your eyes
burn with drowning. everything is quiet
when there is nothing to echo
