When Regalia brought a Pearlcatcher to the clan, one who was young and arrogant and dreaming of the moment she could become a proper oracle, it became apparent early on that Covenant's dreams would never be fulfilled without a mentor present. It was why Regalia went to the Sea of a Thousand Currents for the first time in years - She believed that there was still somebody there who she had crossed paths with before, however brief their encounter had been. That dragon was Tidus, adopted cousin to an old (deceased) oracle friend of hers. Though the sea had no shortage of those who had mastered the old arts as oracles, Tidus was the single one Regalia was still on good terms with.

Upon hearing Regalia's request for him to join her clan, Tidus was at first skeptical. The thought that his apprentice would be a Pearlcatcher, let alone one that clung to the haughty ways of the breed, was something that hardly sat right with him. However, he could sense her desperation from the start. Frightened by such intense emotion after so much time in solitude, Tidus was nearly inconsolable at the time - It wasn't until he finally met the one who wished to apprentice under him that he calmed down. Though unwilling to step out into the world even after his cousin's passing, Tidus begrudgingly left for the Zephyr Steppes, where he remains one of the clan's quieter members.

Some have naturally come to believe that Tidus's prophecies are untrue, made up solely to keep others away from his den, but Tidus speaks nothing but the truth of what he sees. With only Covenant there to keep him company, he tries to remain the best mentor he can to the young Pearlcatcher, even if his social awkwardness can make things difficult. Regardless, Tidus won't let his desire for solitude keep him from doing his work as an oracle...Especially now that there are other dragons listening.

Tidus is currently haunted by a single vision, something he dares not speak of, lest he ensure the prophecy make itself true. Every omen seems to point towards a single future, a future where Notus Silver must make its way away from the Zephyr Steppes and into a new territory. Once again, everything Regalia knows will be shattered. Tidus cannot bear to tell her that she will lose her charge a second time in her life.

It is the true reason for Tidus's interest in Pebble - He believes she is the one who will lead Notus Silver to their new paradise, long after their territory is ravaged by what he refers to as "the great storm." She seems to have caught on, if her desire to head north to Dragonhome is any indication...Or at least, Tidus likes to think she's caught on.
