Senseless violence and devastation destroyed her first home, the land where her parents brought her into the world, the place her clan had called home for generations. A treaty between beast and dragon had been broken for reasons unknown and her kin had payed the price. Wounds were bound, stitches were sown, a mother called in a few favors, and a clan rebuilt. Time healed the worst of the grief and sorrow over spilt blood and lost family. Valor’s furor cooled. There remained a loose end, however, that threatened to unwind the proverbial tapestry that held her still-fragile sense of security in the balance. A lone dragon had been brought into their territory mere weeks before the bloodshed, weak from a fight with local fauna. Her disjointed syntax implied a life of a loner and her defensiveness towards personal questions, a liability. Those clan members with a sensitivity towards the arcane energies felt so, anyways, but they could not give a definite warning as they had when facing a clear enemy in the past. For the first time in years, nests yielded stillborn hatchlings, a clan elder had drowned, a sense of unease had settled among them. Then the maren beastclan attacked. The unsettling loner had vanished during the initial waves of the attack. Valor hadn’t given her another thought until peace returned to her clan. Now, clear of mind and heart, she put the pieces together. That loner had unnerved those who could forewarn great disasters and more minor troubles had swept the clan on her arrival. Valor took upon herself a task. Revenge was hardly her first priority, what was done was done and her clan had survived, what really drove her to leave her new home was a sense of protectiveness as if her charge was the entirety of Sornieth. This unknown dragon had brought suffering to a clan at peace and she would likely do so again. That wouldn’t do. |

while on the road with Aether:
pictured now: current timeline standard outfit
>when Valor and Aether come close to The Confrontation, Aether has a bit of a freakout, worried about Valor’s well being in the coming assumed battle, anxiety turns to anger, accuses Valor of doing all of this for revenge, Valor shoots back that that this has never been about revenge but instead about preventing further tragedies aka she’s not as “emotionally compromised” as Aether thinks she is
>catharsis arc: Aether has taken off to finally confront her sister for closure; Valor, Xyre (and others?) go after her, Xyre has a breakdown while talking with Valor while on the road together (V: for what it’s worth, I don’t blame you for what has happened) now that Valor has made peace
