Biography

Understory started his life in the Sea of a Thousand Currents, where he admired the pearls that the Maren traded to their clan and the sparkling familiars displayed in fairs from the Crystal Pools. He lived a pampered, luxuriant life, and he lost it all when a portal was opened over his village. Only the few dragons who were in the kelp fields - Fae, for the most part - survived the whirlpool that resulted. Together, the refugees escaped to the Viridian Labyrinth, and shared their culture with the clan they found. This included the beginning of the worship of the Labyrinth's waterfalls.

Following this tradition, Understory and his mate Canopy migrate to the Great Waterfall in the Sunbeam Ruins to incubate and hatch the clan's eggs and trade samples of the various waterfalls, as well as to buy glass bottles of various intricate shapes from Nirvana, a glassblower in the Carrion Canyon. This trade has made them quite wealthy, enough for Understory to continue coating himself and his familiar in gaudy jewelry and gems. He is very serious about his hobbies of gemstone appraisal and jewelry design.
