I am Arthfael, Prince of Amalgam and heir to the throne. I was born as the first of my parents children with the genes they chose to wear, a mircale child they called me, for Father only had chosen his wing gene while Mother had both wing and body genes to adorn her. Despite all that I have been given as I have been raised by Kalesta and my parents, there are things I want that I'm not allowed to have.

I am but a young dragon as I write this, but before me I can already see great things that will happen during the time of my rule once my parents have stepped down from their thrones. I can feel it in my bones when I watch the clan trainers take off from the meadow and head to the Lady of Nature's domain to fight and to train those who are going to serve the gods once they're trained. I long to join the trainers when they leave, but to learn to fight and protect this clan when it needs to be protected instead of leaving to serve for whatever of the gods are looking for new dragons to serve them in their wars. I've heard enough of the wars my clan went through before I was born to know that they need the protection of trained warriors more than the gods.

I'm not yet strong enough, or large enough to begin my training. The trainers tell me this each time I ask them to take me out for training, but I've seen them take dragons smaller and weaker than me out to learn. It's frustrating, want to protect and fight for my home and not being able to because no one will teach me. A member of the Royal Guard is always following me, keeping me away from the Beastclan members I know occupy the crystal pools around the island, or the kelp beds farther out in the sea. Away from the weapons that the clan owns, sometimes sells or trades that we were gifted by our ally clan in the Lady of Fire's domain. They will not stop me forever.

I'm going to become a great fighter when they finally let me train. I'm going to protect this clan, protect my family, when they need me. I need to train though, and soon we will depart for the Lord of Wind's domain to celebrate all that is the Wind Flight with Mom's brother. There's a field I've heard Iara speak of where young dragons starting off on their own can train, the Beastclan members there are not too strong. I'll go there, and I'll learn how to fight with my canines and my claws no matter how hard it might be.

I will protect them. I will not let my home be attacked by rival clans ever again.
