Her parents’ arrogance left her cursed; damned to spread misfortune and malcontent wherever she traveled. She taught herself not to fall victim to righteous anger at her situation at a young age; she may not be able to live a peaceful life but she was determined to lead a life nonetheless. Her jinx may have caused illness, shortages, and death, but she refused to bear the guilt of something out of her control. What reason is there to condemn herself for something caused by her parents’ crime? She was not sadistic, however, and so she soon left her home in civilized society to make her bed among beasts who had wrought far worse than her. It’s difficult to put a name to her relationship with these solitary beasts of the wilds. Friends? No, never. Allies? Perhaps. It was something, anyways. It’s perhaps ironic that she of all beings would find favor with fate, maybe some creature of a higher order felt pity for her. In any case, her meeting with the wayward spirit Acedia changed the course of her life irrevocably. While she was adamant that she felt no remorse for the misfortune she had inadvertently caused in her past, she was willing to leave behind the unforgiving world of monsters for a chance to regain those peaceful days of clan life she had tried so hard to forget.
