Mundane among his peers and only slightly less so in the corporeal world, Acedia’s placid temperament was matched well with his ability to dampen magic. His idle wish to make something interesting of his life eventually led him into the twisted woods of the Shadowbinder, where whispered rumors of a hex-troubled creature caught his attention.

Xyremita was hardly a kindred spirit with her standoffish demeanor and almost cruel tongue, but here was the opportunity to do something. A being that was cursed to cause tragedy and one that could nullify the effects of magic, what a match.

Acedia was never one to have grand schemes for the future, but had he been pressed for a prediction of what this partnership would lead to, he never would have dreamed of this. Friendship between a phlegmatic spirit and a cursed dragon forged a variety of pariahs and enemies into, if not friends, then something.
