backstory

Once upon a time, there was a guardian and a tundra, who were deeply in love. Not mad, quite sensibly actually. Sensible until the tundra, who had a bleeding heart, began to gather a small merry band of lost souls.

Some call them followers, hitchhikers, and loiters. They were orphans, fugitives, banished witches and hopeful settlers seeking a new life. The clan settled inside the remains of an extinct volcano within the foxfire bramble. And groundskeepers worked day and night to keep its entrance, the rim of its crater free of debris.

In times of conflict, the groundskeepers created a dome of brambles, massive in length and scale. With just a few ropes, this dome could rush to cover the volcano's opening, keeping its citizens safe within. Thank the Gods it never had to be used. At the base of the crater was the old bazaar, and behind all the stalls were tunnels containing the dwellings and dens of various clanmates. It was once known as Mount Eurus.

The tundra, Kazern remembers none of this. And there is no evidence that the clan ever existed at all. Not after the eruption, not after all the effort, the alchemist, Vrentu, took into making everyone forget.

A year has pass since Garuda and I have established a home for our wandering menagerie within an inactive volcano. Much as happened since yesterday's meeting, Enguerrand has become our fourth council member, and Erid had stepped down from the position. An ambassador from the Darkborn visited, and our clans continued to organize our upcoming centennial mother's day celebration.
