Though he joined the Rockbreaker cult as an adolescent, Cinnamon had never been highly dedicated to the call of the Earthshaker or the cult's mining operation. He certainly honored the Earthshaker and respected the clan matriarch Ajra, but his heart had just never been in the whole religious aspect. Rather, he cared about the cult more due to social bonds. The cult, after all, were his family, and he considered the other Geode dragons to be his siblings. While the mines didn't mean much to him, family did, and he was fiercely protective of his family, a trait that Ajra liked and appreciated. Because of this, he was taken out of the mines and placed on patrol duty, which he shared with the hired mercenary Bloodstone.

Bloodstone was Cinnamon's closest companion, being both best friend and role model. Cinnamon spent most of his time with the Skydancer, eager to hear stories of the mercenary's time spent in large cities and about his philandering adventures.

But as time went by, cracks began to show in the cult's foundation. Dragons spoke in whispers about Ajra - about her control over everyone that regularly crossed into abuse, and about how they doubted that she could actually speak to the Earthshaker. When her particularly cruel treatment of the dragon Howlite came to the surface, a schism formed, and the majority of the cult walked away from it all. Cinnamon, desperate to keep his family together, tried to talk to Ajra about changing her ways, but she considered the young man to be insolent and banished him.

Cinnamon stuck around the edges of the clan's territory for some time, too afraid of the outside world to leave entirely, until Elyakim's cult launched an attack on the Cerillos village. Aided by the witch Badb and an undead Imperial, Cinnamon became a hero to the Cerillos people when he helped to defeat Elyakim. Magdalena, the tribe's leader, offered him a place as the tribe's new patrolman, and so he returned once more to the cliff village, where he tries his best to form a new family while recovering from the emotional wounds inflicted by Ajra.
