Ruby is a fat, lazy Nocturne, regarded as one of the slowest-moving members of her breed ever recorded. She is perfectly healthy, but remains seated in her lair almost every day by choice.

Most will agree that her decision to stay inside all day comes from her love of watching TV and movies. Despite being so incredibly sluggish and lazy, she is also incredibly powerful, possessing an amazing amount of magical energy that she uses to... watch TV. Yep, she uses a level of power capable of downing a Wartoad with one hit to create a viewing portal to watch TV.

Ruby makes a living writing reviews of the various things she's watched, and is quite popular on the dragon internet. Her favorite things to watch are westerns, which led her to dressing and acting like a cowboy all the time. Most of her clanmates find it hilarious, but are too afraid to directly insult her in fear that she may use her mighty magical power to attack something for once. Ruby is also known for being incredibly sinister, often dropping vague threats which are hard to distinguish from sarcasm due to her soft, whispery voice.

Agnes and Roy had taken Ruby into the clan thinking she was lethargic from sickness, but upon realizing that she was just incredibly lazy, decided to let her stay since sitting in one place all the time and occasionally pecking at food stores every now and then wasn't really hurting anyone. Blaine and Maxie are both fans of her writing and will sometimes hang out and watch TV with her, secretly envious of her great power.

In the rare instance that she leaves the house, Ruby will go out to the crossroads to trade goods or deliver treasure to Pumpkin, the clan merchant, in exchange for a rare DVD of some obscure show or the new season of her favorite series, "High Noon at The Highland Scrub" (it's also rumored that she shares a Sornietflix account with him).

Ruby will often make small talk with Pumpkin, and upon one day hearing that he longed for a child but could not find a mate, donated some of her eggs to him. Pumpkin cherished Ruby for her act of kindness, but Ruby is sure to make others know that they aren't a couple because she's "not into men".

Despite her aloof nature and avoidance of any romantic contact with Pumpkin, Ruby is a kind mother to her son Linkin and often shares her favorite movies and TV episodes with him.
