Maxie is a stocky, fiesty Snapper who excels in the field of forgery. He leads the clan's group of ore diggers and explorers and serves as a mentor for several metalworkers, blacksmiths, and jewelers within the clan.

Maxie originated from the Ashfall Waste, where once he came of age he was immediately sent into battle to train for a life serving under The Flamecaller. However, being the runt of his clutch, he heavily suffered in battle compared to his Imperial and larger Snapper siblings. Maxie took several brutal blows within the Coliseum, leading him to lose his two back legs and a part of his tail.

Maxie was forcibly retired after his severe injury and hid within the depths of his home clan, ashamed of himself and jealous of his powerful siblings who went on to live exalted lifestyles. He hated himself. He hated the Beastclans. He hated and hated for several months until he could no longer handle the stress and anger he constantly lived with.

His parents offered to console him with a pet, a tamed Hainu captured from the Bamboo Falls. At first, Maxie avoided the beast, as it reminded him of his hatred of Beastclans, but slowly warmed up to it and soon began to enjoy its' company, and the dragons of his clan all grew smiles on their faces as they saw him come out and walk around again for the first time in months.

Maxie was eager to move around and explore the world again in search of a life beyond the Coliseum, now that he could no longer fight, but his scarred, amputated legs ached under his weight and the stilts his clan's medic built for him were no longer helping. So in the spirit of a true Fire dragon, Maxie took up the hammer and anvil and taught himself how to forge armor and weapons, building himself a new pair of legs and a cast for his tail, and crafting things for his fellow clan mates.

After he felt like he had mastered all he needed to know, Maxie thanked his family one last time and left his home with only a satchel full of forging tools and his trusted pet Hainu, hoping to teach other dragons his craft, and eventually coming across a clan in Plague full of dragons missing parts and seeking help just like he did.

Maxie, like Blaine, is very prideful of his home element, and the two often bicker about which is better: Fire or Water. Most dragons will side with Blaine due to Maxie's loud and abrasive nature, but as a cunning act of revenge, Maxie taught all he knew to Blaine's son Igneous, enlightening the young Ridgeback and inspiring him to become knowledgeable of all things Fire just like his "Uncle Maxie".
