Biography

Rubble
Guardian of the Dreaming Moon Clan's Borders
zbfxvJn.png
weYXfcU.png Personality:

His attitude isn't one most would expect from a guardian, especially one from the home of the Earthshaker, who had been described as loving, calm, and patient. A true father to his children. No, not Rubble. He was angry with the world, angry at how unfair the systems were and how other dragons discriminated on the element. Clans that didn't treat dragons equally made him mad, or clans that didn't feel thankful for the dragons they had. Even the dumbest dragon that ran into rocks had a skill or a story to tell and their own struggles. It was infuriating to him, yet no one knew why. Except Brimstone. She understood and whenever something unfair happened in the clan she would always explain and calm his rage. He would silently go back to guarding the clan. Maybe they could be different. Even if they weren't, he would stay for her. For Brimstone.

Being strong isn't what he is known for. Yet his Snapper bloodline has made his hide tough, his jaws powerful, and the armor Brimstone had made him made it tougher to take him out. Together, with his bear, he could sit on the edge of the clan grounds, at the weakest spot in their defenses, and watch. If an enemy approached he would roar, his voice booming, and charge with the speed a Snapper probably shouldn't have. This skill made him appear strong, his booming voice, his ability to take hits, but he knew the truth. He was weak due to a problem. The Rot, he called it. Earth dragons were tough dragons that had a strong link to the past, but the Rot could hit anyone. He suffered from it, a rotting of the personality, slowly losing who he was and dropping into deep sleep like the Earthshaker. The Rot didn't kill anyone but... he didn't want to change.

His attitude about the Rot made him more vicious. When he thought he was being too soft, he would grow angrier. His insomnia kept him up, but every time he would even doze off he could feel himself being lost. Brimstone says the Rot is all in his head, that he is scared of changing because he'll lost something that he won't miss, but that just isn't true. He might lose something due to this "invisible ailment" that didn't "exist". He could lose her, he could lose his bear, his home. He couldn't change. He had to stay angry and strong. For Brimstone, for the clan. He had to protect everyone, to keep them safe. The Rot would ruin him and make him weak and too kind. No, he couldn't be kind, not for the enemies. Brimstone has tried to tell him that, yes, it is in his head, but being kind doesn't make him weak. Rubble has made an exception to his rule and is only kind to her, and the clan members. Everyone else won't make him Rot.

History:

His clan was wandering when he was born, taking the same worn paths that his ancestors had taken to move to a new home, a new cave system. Rubble was born in a traveling sack, poking his head out to watch the several Snappers moving. They walked for days, not stopping for nights, until they reached the caves. Everyone set up shop and went to searching for food, hoping to get ready for the next big move, but until then, they would carve their new stories into the wall. Rubble helped as much as he could, until he was in the way and decided to wander deeper into the caves. There, he found a bear. Not just any bear, a Cragbacked Bouldursa. The ancient guardian of the Earthshaker had wandered into their cave, injured. Rubble climbed on the bear, not aware at the time what he had found, and fell asleep.

When he woke up, the bear was moving, walking away from the cave. Rubble shouted for his family but no one heard him, or noticed. The bear must have taken a back way and was still walking, slowly, with big steps. Rubble was, at the time, too scared to jump off and stayed huddled on the back, falling asleep a few hours later. The next time he woke up, the bear was still walking, but this time, passing another bear that looked like it was oozing with green blood, puss pockets littering the black fur and the skull on its face making Rubble shiver. The bear ignored them for the most part and kept moving, only offering a grunt of greeting to the Bouldursa Rubble had found. Then the bear kept walking, passing another bear sleeping on a pink rock, its one eye opening to stare at them before closing again. Where was this ancient guardian going?

Rubble finally tumbled off of the bear, hitting the ground hard and crying out in pain. The bear stopped and turned around, walking back over to him, picking up the baby Snapper in his mouth, and turned to keep walking. This went on until Rubble was grown. Never had Rubble questioned why the bear chose him to carry around and protect for years, not until word of a Snapper clan being caught in rocks too heavy to move reached him. That was his clan, the one the bear taken him away from. The bear saved him. Rubble was happy the bear chose him, really, as the creature was a loving parent. Then, it was pushed to number two on Rubble's "who I love most" list. He met Brimstone, the beautiful Snapper working on jewelry. Brimstone tried to show off countless times, only getting a chuckle in return. He then learned that she found it adorable, and a few months after he had the honor of meeting her father. He then took up guard for the clan, learning from the bear that had saved him how to protect, how to guard. A lot of it was standing as still as a statue, but knowing the clan was safe made it worth it.
