The Guardian loomed over you, his gaping maw dripping with the gore of battle, his dark hide stained with the last remains of his many kills. You were on his battle field, his land, his home, and you had chosen the wrong side.
The monster stormed through the debris of the war ground to the side of his master, his leash holder, Falcera, who nodded in approval of his fresh lick of paint. He could hardly stand in once place, his jittery Spiral instincts still having a small hold over him. The mirror pointed to the last batch of their foes making a dash back towards their plague strewn lands. Vicente knew what to do. He always did.
The smaller dragons avoided him when he was in the lair. They were worried they would end up as his latest "decoration." His grove was littered with his trophies, and Falcera approved of it. Let the world see how monstrous her clan could be. Even the mighty Imperials were wary of Vicente, they had heard the rumors, as had everyone in the growing group of shadowlings.
Vicente was a product of death and blood, there was no denying it. He followed Falcera because she provided it when she needed to, and withheld it when he had taken enough. Vicente had, in time, became her's to do with as she pleased. And she was very pleased.
The Guardian reveled in the time he spent with the leader, often staying silent, just as she did. When she provided him with the body he craved, he gave her all. He was smarter than those around him thought, perhaps cunning a better word, and he trained his young well. All except Vitari. If anyone would even mention his son's name, Manstren had to hold him back. Vitari would not follow his father, so Vitari left. A dishonor to the clan, Vicente had thought, and a dishonor to him and his master. Falcera didn't mind, but Vicente had hunted him down in secret.
The last words anyone ever heard Vicente say were, "weak blood cannot be tolerated." He has been silent since.

Recently, Vicente has taken interest in a young Skydancer, given the name of Taran by the lifeless one Banon. This small one is strong, and shows potential. He teaches her in his ways of blood and death and she is only too happy to learn, bathing her claws in those she has vanquished just as he stains his skin. It is a peculiar sight to the other dragons, seeing the mighty warrior dote around the fluttering dagger, but they know better than to think he has softened. He is merely making himself stronger through the use of an inseparable ally.
