B I O G R A P H Y

Nocturne's past is not something he seeks to remember.
His old patron not someone he wishes to have faith in.

He is, by all accounts, a loyal servant of the Shadowbinder

He was once Leader of Adavar, and not a single word within the clan was uttered of their leader's Arcane origins, because not a single dragon in the clan doubted Nocturne's devotion to the Shadow Flight.
He was only a hatchling when he lived under the Arcanist, and he oft wishes he never had.
He and his nest-mate were abandoned at birth by their parents, both sent off to war to fight for the Arcanist -- a god he grew to despise for taking them away from him.
Before he knew it, he was torn away from his only brother and living in an unfamiliar clan. It went like that, time and time again, clan after clan, after clan.
So he learned to never settle -- not even when the keeper found a mate for him. Her name was Rosekeep, and she was nothing like him.
He thought that this would just be temporary; the keeper would not be satisfied with the pairing and he would leave for the next clan.
... But it never happened. Even if the keeper stopped loving their children like she once had, she did not stop loving them.
He was the first Imperial to join Keeper Mao's lair and after the exaltation of Lihkos and Cabrra's retirement, Mao was looking for a new dragon to step into the limelight. Nocturne's quick thinking, tactical skills and natural ability to lead soon earned him the title of Clan Leader and for once in his life... he was finally happy.

After years of being at the forefront, leading Adavar through thick and thin, the time came for he and his mate to step down.
Cabrra had been reborn and sought control of the lair once more.
Despite not thinking she was ready for leadership, the one achievement in his life was soon taken from him and given to another. That, he will never forgive.

He and Rosekeep were chosen because of their differences. Because they were both unique, and acted such contrasts on other dragons within the clan. Once he thought they were too different for each other, and mistakenly mated with oth ers -- not knowing how it pained her.
They have not mated since, but their appreciation for each other's guidance still stands strong.

Despite his past and his faults, the crown upon his head was not a heavy one - its weight held by the strength of his clan, his mate and his friends. He would never have been able to lead an entire clan if he had not put his past behind him and focused on his future under the protection of his shadow mother.
Oft seen as an aloof and hardy leader by outsiders; he ruled over Adavar with an iron-fist ‒ strict, but only for the best. His love for his clan-mates is immeasurable and he does not tolerate threats to them by anyone.
His clan-mates often warmly joke about him being better suited to the Nature Flight than either due to his earthen colourings and attraction towards all things green, and he takes pride in that that is another thing that the keeper loves about him -- he reminds her of how beautiful the world they stand on is. Despite all that the Shade has thrown at it in the past, Sorneith heals and continues to develop in amazing ways.
His wings remind her of the earth; his body of the lush green of life, and his underbelly reminds her of the stars that shine down on them at night -- a knowledge that even a time of great darkness can hold spots of light and herald hope...

Always an opportunity to take a break from responsibility. His longest friend has always been Klao. Their similarities bind them together and Nocturne never hesitates to take an offer presented by his friend to roam The Tangled Wood together, to hunt and fight beside each other as they once did when the clan was still small and young.
