Atilla was born in another clan but is a Shadow dragon nonetheless. He has always had a talent for silently sneaking and his abnormal size makes him an avid hunter. Atilla was brought to Clan Niatalde when he was only a hatchling but quickly grew into the proud warrior he is today. When he first joined the clan he had no intention of taking a mate, and no dragon wanted to take him. For he was the first mirror dragon to join the clan and superstition of their violent ways caused some dragons to fear him.

One dragon named Sasha found his brute strength attractive for she knew he could protect her. After her loss of Tobai she was ready to try to get Atilla to love her so she could fill the hole in her heart. Atilla also started to take an interest in Sasha for her proud tone and bossy ways caused Sasha and him to develop a connection. Sadly that wouldn't last, for when Sasha had three children; Blitz, Demi and Banja who Sasha loved very much, Atilla didn't give any attention to Demi, for he was interested in training his strong mirror children. Sasha began to nag him and forced him to turn to his recent close friend Luna, a female mirror who had recently joined the clan. Atilla ignored Demi so much that Sasha forced him to fight, and he beat her.

After that event, Sasha was yet again heartbroken and didn't pay attention to any of her children, or any dragon for that matter. Caught in a new relationship, Atilla followed around Luna like a puppy and they quickly fell in love. They have had children but Luna tries to give love to Atillas children that he couldn't. He loved his children but viewed pearlcatchers weaker than mirrors. Atillas true love to his children was tested when he found Lefua at the border of the Tangled Wood.

When no one wanted to raise Lefua, Atilla immediately took up the job. He tried to compensate for his lack of attention to his children by giving all the love he had to protect and care for Lefua and he treats her more than one of his own. But when his daughter Banja died in a skirmish on the territory with a beast clan horde, Atilla broke down. He couldn't hunt or eat. Lefua talked to him and eventually inspired him to protect his clan again and his children even more so. Now he has learned to treat his entire clan like his own hatchling.
