Like any good Pirate, Undertow knows that the best battles are fought with the mind and not with your fists. At the very least, he can hold his own long enough to slip away into the shadows.
Glass Knife
Trinkets
This find is in excellent condition, but can only be used once.

One of Undertow's prized possessions is a battle-worn suit of samurai armor that he inherited from his mentor in the pirate trade, Cassius. He was a world-class pirate, sailing from the seas around Dragonhome to the distant shores of the Shifting Expanse and everywhere in-between.
Crane's Helmet
Apparel
A helmet crafted from steel and lacquered wood.

Undertow has begun earning his own renown in the black markets of Sornieth. Word is, he can get you any rare goods you desire--even a light sprite or two, or the ever-elusive Imperial scroll--if you have the coin for it. But those sorts of discussions are better suited for more... secure quarters.
No one quite knows where Undertow came from; he appeared in the lake beneath Mt. Bhaga one day, battered and covered in mud. Even after Starsong nursed him back to health, he remained evasive about his origins. Only his brown eyes seem to give his lineage away, but then again, it could all be part of his disguise.
Tidelord Seashell Decoration
Trinkets
A decorative trinket resembling the Tidelord. It is comprised of seashells and bits of coral. One can hear hundreds of faint whispers when holding it close.

Those lucky few who have been invited back to his underground cavern may have caught a glimpse of a rather telling bust of the Tidelord, cashed away in a shadowed corner. Or perhaps they were just seeing things; each time they tried to take a second look, the statue had disappeared.
BIOGRAPHY
____Undertow washed up on the banks of the underground lake beneath Mt. Bhaga one evening in late Summer, his clothes torn and his tail mangled, clutching a rusted chest in his claws with nothing else to his name. It took months for Courin to nurse him back to complete health, although his tail will never look quite the same, kinked and dark brown at the tip. In those early days with the clan, no one knew whether to welcome the stranger or condemn him; the very words out of his mouth revealed his life as a pirate, as he spoke with the well-salted brogue of a sea captain.
____Although more than one dragon spoke on his behalf, his true saving grace was the notice of the Tidelord's emissary, Wavecrest. The Guardian dragon took particular notice of him from the moment of his discovery, and he visited Undertow nearly every day that he was in Starsong's care. Undertow was originally wary of the dragon; being suspicious of new dragons was part of what had kept him alive for so long. Although neither dragon has ever spoken outright of what occurred between them, it was clear to Clan leaders Usarna and Driftwood that Undertow could be trusted: if a Deity Emissary accepted a dragon, how could anyone else question their judgment?
____Since those early days, Undertow has taken it upon himself to guard the mysterious, murky waterways beneath mount Bhaga. Often his clan mates can't tell if he's muddy from exploring the hidden water veins, or if the "muck" is just his scale pattern. Undertow often goes "fishing" in the dark and dirty waters, often straying into Plague and Nature territory to do so. Luckily his companions Riven and Paprika can vouch for him when he shows up on foreign soil. Our piratical clanmate often gets himself into murky situations, which greatly displeases Clan Lawmaker Kujaku, but since he's Riven's most trusted friend, she can't really say much....
____Undertow makes few friends in his line of work, but time and again he has found that his friendship with Riven has withstood the test of time. Riven was one of the first dragons to vouch for his residence amid Clan Bhaga, and Undertow has never forgotten his debt to his clanmate and friend. He often brokers deals between Riven and his contacts in the pirate trade, and smuggles goods across borders to facilitate Riven's "business relationships." On occasion, he has even found the rare bit of treasure he's willing to part with to please his partner-in-crime.
PROTEGE
____When Undertow was still a young spiral, hardly grown into his tail, he found himself commissioned aboard a vast pirate vessel, Captained by the famed Cassius of the Shrieking Wilds. Taken in by the corsair's grandeur and cunning, Undertow spent his formative years learning the ins and outs of the pirate trade. Although it has gotten him into no small amount of trouble--nearly ending his life during more perilous ventures-- Undertow could wish for nothing else than the life that Capt. Cassius introduced to him.
____This fiery Plague dancer captured his heart the instant that they met, and she has held it captive ever since. Paprika is more than a little disdainful of his line of work and has told him so at every opportunity. Despite this, whenever he gets into a bind while crossing the border into the Scarred Wasteland, Paprika appears as though by magic and, with a ripple of scarlet silk, she soothes the offending dragon's..."irritation." Of course, she never lets Undertow forget his debt to her, which he finds both endlessly irritating, and beguilingly charming.
BENEFACTOR
____Despite his more selfish tendencies, Undertow truly has a heart cast in gold. He rarely if ever keeps treasure for himself: all of his worldly possessions fit in his single rusted chest. Instead he donates most of his funds to the Clan Bank, and when the bank is full, he takes to the seas to distribute the wealth to young dragon clans that still need help getting on their feet. Dozens of clans across Sornieth owe at least a part of their success to his generosity, but you can count on Undertow not to give them away.
Rusted Treasure Chest
Chests
A dented chest that is rusted shut. A deft dragon may be able to pry the lock open. A strong one could probably smash it.
0
The chest that Undertow held when he was washed ashore beneath Mt. Bhaga. At the time, all that it held was the samurai armor set that he inherited from his mentor and father figure, Capt. Cassius. Now it holds all of his worldly possessions, as well as a small sum of treasure, should he ever have to pick up and leave unexpectedly.
Runed Helm
Trinkets
Collect enough of these and you may be able to spell out messages to your clanmates!

From his hatchling days, Undertow always had an affinity for water. His lanky body sluices through water faster than even a maren warrior, and he strongly favors swimming to flying. As a young dragon he would spend days exploring deep ocean reefs for treasures. Perhaps it truly was fate that he would grow to lead a life on the open sea.
Much like his favorite food here, Undertow prefers to run rather than battle. He never aspired to be much of a Coliseum fighter; he was always more interested in the loot. He knows his way around a knife enough to defend himself and disorient his enemies, but he would rather turn tail and flee to fight another day.
Two-tone Wasp
Insect
The armored carapace protects this wasp from most dangers. Despite its armor, it will flee in the presence of larger creatures. This species has a high survival rate.

Surprisingly, most of Undertow's illegal trades are not in illicit goods, but in fabrics. It's crazy what some dragons will pay for a single bolt of fine wavespun silk, which is conveniently only available in the deepest ocean venues... Of course, Undertow couldn't tell you where he found such a cloth, but he'd be willing to part with it for the right price.
Rippling Cloth
Dragonmade
The downside with trading Maren cloth is that the bolts are not vast enough to benefit most dragon species.
