Biography
Marsrift Honor Guard | Brother | Father | Hothead |
QUOTE
|
Born beneath the leafy boughs of the Shrieking Wilds, Marsrift was raised by seasoned parents who, if truth be told, had always had the best intentions. Although often preoccupied with their personal duties in the Coliseum or the Marketplace, Lady and Chromaggus offered the perfect balance of stern authority and loving ambivalence. Despite their experience with their eldest, Veronica, two of the four hatchlings in Mars's nest passed away soon after infancy. Because of this, their attention on Marsrift and his surviving brother, Tyrael, was almost too much for the young tundra to bear. Mars decided early on that he would tough things out alone so that he may prove himself as able a fighter as his mother had been. If he spent his whole life coddled under the trees, how could he call himself a true provider or protector? Of course, for an inexperienced dragon fresh out of his nest, this understandably proved more difficult than Mars had thought. Outside the canopy of his childhood home, the sun bore down on his thick tundra fur, and he collapsed more than once because he was unable to find water and shade. Luckily, certain passers-by alerted a local clan of a struggling young loner on the outskirts of their territory. Driftwood eventually tracked Mars down and, without much to-do, dumped his fluffy butt straight onto Mt. Bhaga's doorstep. A far cry from the comforts that his glade-den at home, Mars supposed that he was still, technically, "roughing it," and accepted this new turn as just another chapter of his burgeoning adventure. He only planned on remaining for a few months to shore up his training...and wound up finding a home for life. Despite himself, Marsrift still keeps a tattered old blanket stashed away in the deepest crevice of his rocky nest; he pulls it out whenever he finds himself missing home, and the scent of the forest--the fresh green leaves, the loamy, rich soil--brings with it a rush of comforting memories. . |
