Kingsley cares for the hatchlings that come in and out of the clan. This may seem counterintuitive, given his general gruffness, the air of the hermit about him. He's a stickler for rules and a pessimist who doesn't care to sugarcoat things. Yet the hatchlings love him. He's shockingly tolerant of their antics, letting them climb onto his back, dangle from his nose, and doodle on his wings. He doesn't baby them but he's not unkind, either. And gods help the dragon who threatens any of his small wards - he's not a warrior, but he can put up a vicious fight.

In the early days of the clan he was mated to Cecilia, until both of them realized... some things about themselves. The two remain close friends - Cecilia and their son, Simon, are about the only two grown dragons with whom Kingsley willingly spends a lot of time. As one of the most longterm residents of the clan, he commands a certain amount of respect that he'd rather not have. He's part of Hunter's inner circle.
