Ambrosius is a wise old soul, and founder of this clan. He is old, and I'm not talking Arcanist old, I'm talking older-than-dirt, living fossil, Earthshaker old. Having grown somewhat arthritic in his old age (but still nimble in wit, he insists) he has given leadership of Wingfold Canyon clan to the young Wildclaw named Onion.

Ambrosius is brave and noble and always ready to fly to the defense of his clan when needed. His Guardian Ward consists of the history of Sornieth, which he has personally collected and carries everywhere in a battered old scroll case. He's a good father-figure to the clan and he can often be found telling stories to the hatchlings. He laments that this latest generation of hatchlings seems so cynical; however, it must be admitted that they have some reason to be, as Ambrosius tends to greatly embellish his stories. His favorite story about how the clan moved from the Viridian Labyrinth to Dragonhome has many renderings. One day it involves the conspiracy of a flock of Harpys and their Janustrap familiars ("but Harpies don't live in Nature Flight!" clever hatchlings say), and the next it involves Ambrosius knocking a sacred branch off the Behemoth and deciding he had better make himself scarce.

The hatchlings, and indeed the whole clan, are quite fond of Ambrosius, and many call him "Granpa."
