[Egyptian mythology. Goddess of funerary rites, symbolizing the cycle of death and rebirth, and representing decay, magic and the invisible. She is protecting the dead and assists them through the different stages of their afterlife. Her fiery breath makes her able to see ''that which is hidden by moonlight''.]


''Ascend and descend. Ascend with Isis, rise with the day-bark. Descend and ascend. Descend with Nephthys, sink into darkness with the night-bark.''

The ever-rising daylight sinks into the dark. Fire, illusions, decay. And again, fiery light, blazing through the moonless night.
Nephthys controls and manipulates the dead, guiding them either into eternal salvation or into eternal punishment. She is watching the clan's ceremonies, rituals and judgements from the shadows, and is intervening whenever her power of prophecy tells her to step in. Her role within the clan is quite ambivalent - even if she does not hold any official positions within the council or the temple, she is the last instance to approve decisions. This privilege was given to her by Aether due to her mighty and divinatory skills, which enable her to never sleep and to work as a magical all-seeing eye.
Nephthys's body is made of unbreakable marble stone and her claws are sharp enough to slash both, adamant crystals and invisible substances.
