Biography
Born into the Wildebeest Clans of the High Plains, Sihaya grew up surrounded by and fascinated with the knowledge and experiences of others. When she had grown to her adult status, she set out on a quest to document the daily lives and stories of all she met. Bards, Guardians, Traders, Serthis, even the Shadowbinder herself told her tales of their adventures and lives. When she ventured to a clan of Dunhoof Centaurs north of the sunbeam ruins, she met dragons from Clan Featherbeak. Eager for more stories, she followed them home, and talked with Alder, their leader. Soon she settled on, collecting and writing tales and histories of dragons passing through, compiling a vast store of parchments and books stuffed into her rapidly-overcrowding lair. Ove day, Alder came to visit. She said there was one dragon Sihaya had not met, and that he wanted to talk to her. Eagerly she followed Alder to the base of the tallest mountain, to a gigantic bronze door. With a push they hinged inward, and Alder lead the way down the twisting stone corridor, deep under the mountain. The room at the end of the hall was a grand anteroom, carpeted with silk rugs and thick pillows. Reclining on a giant pile of crimson pillows was the largest dragon she had ever seen. A gigantic sandy snapper smiled gently as he regarded her, blue eyes glittering with delight. It was ShaiHulud, the ancient dragon of legend. This meeting was the first of many, and it wasn't long before a romance blossomed and her great library was formed. |
Wildbeast subspecies: Wildbeast dragons originate from hybrids of Light and Earth dragons in the North and East of Sornieth, where they remain most common; struck by wanderlust, the first wildbeasts were outcasts from both flights, unfit for the sedentary life of monument-builders and classical scholars. Once formed, the first wildbeast clans initially took refuge into the Veridian Labyrinth and this is the reason most wildbeasts developed a more primal nature than their flights of origin. They tend towards an ascetic lifestyle and are a nomadic breed, living in small to medium packs and never carrying more than necessary with them. Wildbeasts do value the pursuit of truth more than other dragons, however they do not believe this should be confined to library halls or the study of ancient ruins; wisdom comes from all paths of experience. Lorekeepers and storytelling are essential to the preservation and transmission of wildbeast knowledge. Morphs can vary depending on regions; colouration in particular tend to be influenced by habitat, with darker specimens occuring more often within the Veridian Labyrinth, while pale wildbeast dragons most frequent in the Sunbeam Ruins and Dragonhome. |
