Biography
|
Naida, the Fae of Water, is a fierce believer in the Gladekeeper, the dominance of nature and the importance of balance. She loves her clan and spends much time to perfect the nest and its surroundings to provide space and comfort for all that want to stay here. "In the name of the Gladekeeper, in protection of Nature, I´ll bind myself to this Clan. With my heart, I´ll protect it. With my strength, I´ll care for it. With my mind, I´ll teach the young. Command me, Gladekeeper. I´m ready to do your bidding." - So vows the Fayette Clan Lately, Quinn is helping her in building the lair. Since Qoatl and Fae have some slight - communication difficulties, this tends to lead to very funny scenes when the two are trying to make the other understand what is to do and how. Whenever Karlen is in lair, he translates for the two of them, thus practicing his diplomatic skills. |
Tigeria, always part of Naidas memories... Fibbs, best friend! |
Naida and Kendal have been sitting on a nest together, one single egg was nesting safely and elaboretely cared for by the parents. One beautiful hatchling, a green tigered girl, broke the shell. The oh-so-proud parents named her Tigeria. "You will inherit Fayette Clan one day, my little Princess!" Naida wispers to her daughter, expressing love and hope with her crest. Tigeria touched Naidas staff with her snout and rubbed softly against it, making sweet purring sounds, the hatchlings crest showed curiosity and wonder.
But then, not even two days later, the young Tigeria vanished without a trace! Naida had been at the gardens, helping the others with the flowers there. And nobody had seen the hatchling vanish. Not even the Tundras are able to track Tigerias scent. Naida is heartbroken, but won´t give up on her daughter or the leadership of Fayette Clan. And as long as Kendal is at her side, she´s sure, so sure, that nothing can destroy her clan.
Sign of Leadership - Fayette Staff will one day be handed to her heir | Some time later, a new nest with her Kendal hatches. Delightful twins, boy and girl, and the girl reminds Naida so much of Tigeria... Kendal brings "Tigris" up as a name for the girl, Naida prompts to "Liomoid" for the boy. Both agree. What Naida hadn´t thought of was how much the resemblance in name and look would hurt her - she´s hardly able to care for the newly-hatched, and almost always close to tears. So she cooses to return to her other responsibilities in the clan and leave nestkeeping and caring for the young to her trusted mate. And without telling anyone, she silently vowes to herself that this will be her last nest until she´s dealt with loosing Tigeria. |
Her beloved Apparel |
Naida has taken her time to think. An accident has robbed her of her daughter - again. She had intended to give leadership of the clan to a daughter of hers, but Gladekeeper seems to see it fit to leave her with only sons. As the Clan is thriving and her firstborn is back from his travels in the Tangled Forest - obviously changed, but also obviously well - she has to name some rules by with to determine who will follow her in leadership. A stable personality. No lust for power. An eye and ear for the needs of the clan. A mate backing him or her up - as Kendal is always supporting her, she knows how important that is. A monogamous relation to be preferred, to avoid the litigations she did see and hear so often with Kolibri, Alainne and their interchangeable mates... And now, she needs to admit to herself she´ll probably never really deal with loosing her kids. But with Moradh, this was different. He went to the Gladekeeper. With all honours and everything. So she decides to hold ceremonies as if sending Tigeria and Tigris into service at the Behemoth, even if nobody knows where the two girls actually are. It´ll help her close the wounds their dissappereances opened. And then she could, maybe, have a new nest with her Kendal... Nevertheless, she´ll always miss her girls. And that is good and healthy, so she decides. |
Explanation of her name: Naida stems from the greek mytholgies, the najades were Water fae. I played with the sounds and created the name. By accident, it´s also a word in the lattvian language, meaning hate... But she´s not a hateful type =) |
It was much, much later that Naida found out about Kendal. And threw him out in an instant. He had taken her most beloved children from her, estranged her from her duties, lied, decived, betrayed. He had brought rot to her heart. But as a child of Nature, she would grow anew and stronger from the experience. He had failed the Clan and had to leave, to - maybe - find a new home. Some time later she learned that he went directly to serve the plaguebringer. This knowledhe confirmed her that deciding to sent him away was the right thing to do, for he was trying to destroy everything she had built up so caringly. What made her worrie was that Kheelan didn´t recognize him for what he was - or maybe he did, but didn´t want to disturb her. And would she, blind with love and desire, have heard the guardian who sees their lair as his charge? Not knowing the answer to this question worries her - a little more than she wants to admit. |

After this rather difficult period, Naida decided that she didn´t want a partner any more - no relationship, only a mate. With a little flirting, she attracted Seamair - but as he realized what she really wanted, he gave some clear words and left. At this time, its Safir who feels up to care for Naidas bodily needs. But against her will, the chief of the clan finds emotions in herself she didn´t want to feel anymore. Maybe she´ll tell him one day. Maybe tomorrow. And then, suddenly, its too late. He left to serve at the Behemoth. In her sadness, she turns back to her oldest friend. Kheelan is right by her side whenever she needs him. Time to repay this friendship, this loyality, this love. |

but gets replaced with
