An ex-mercenary, Ezra is one of the founding members of the clan. Born and raised in a travelling pack of mercenaries, he spent his entire life up until early adulthood fighting and looting alongside his pack. He's trained to be skilled in combat and stealthy in theft, but in reality Ezra is laid-back and borderline lazy by nature.

After an incident in his late adolescence, which he refuses to talk about, Ezra lost his right eye and his drive for violence. He participated less and less in raids until eventually his pack grew intolerant of his lack of contribution. Although he no longer cared for his pack nor their endeavors, his pride wouldn't let him wait until he got exiled, so he left on his own before that could happen. He traveled with haste so that his old pack wouldn't find him and make him pay for his disloyalty.

During his solo travels, he picked up odd jobs and ended up passing quite some time at a small trading town beside the sea, loading and transporting imported goods from merchant ships. It's from one of these crates that he discovered a peculiar bean from foreign lands that could be brewed into the most exquisite beverage. Locals of the seaside town called it the Tea of Vitality for its ability to temporarily cure weariness, but the merchants who were selling it called it 'coffee', which rolled off the tongue much better, and so Ezra took to calling it by its native name. He's been obsessed with it ever since.

After he exhausted his options at the port town, Ezra left to continue his travels, spending the days journeying and passing the nights in small inns. Whenever his coffee supply ran low, he would make pit stops at nearby towns to get some more. He never stayed in one place for too long to avoid running into his old pack.

One day, as he passed through a town and took a rest in their saloon, mug of piping hot coffee clutched in his hands, the bell above the door jingled and two people, a man and a woman, stepped through the threshold. The woman made a beeline to the bartender and, to Ezra's surprise, ordered a mug of 'Tea of Vitality', and promptly plopped down on the stool next to Ezra's, her partner sitting next to her. In the next little while, he observed as the pair conversed in low tones and, more importantly, the woman downed mug after mug of coffee. Intrigued, he waited for a lapse in their conversation to speak up. He introduced himself to them and then promptly challenged her to a friendly coffee-drinking battle. She agreed enthusiastically, to the exasperation of her companion.

An hour later, Ezra emerged victorious as the woman groaned at her defeat, clutching her stomach in pain. Her companion had stayed silent throughout the entire ordeal, occasionally rolling his eyes at their shenanigans and increasing volume as the competition escalated. Now, seeing her at her limit, he quietly stepped in and cut her off, waving away the sizable crowd that had gathered and had been cheering them on. The onlookers dispersed, chattering, and the man, with a steadying hand on his partner's back, made the overdue introductions. Ezra returned the gesture and Calem, as he called himself, excused them both as he guided his companion, now known as Yuin, to the door with a gentle hand on the crook of her elbow.

The following morning, as Ezra prepared to set off on his travels again, he bumped into Yuin and Calem outside the inn. The two of them were also about to head off, and Yuin approached Ezra with a mischievous smirk. "Travel with us," she proposed, "and I swear one day I'll beat you in a coffee contest." And Ezra, who really had no set destination in mind, figured it could do no harm to join the pair for a little while.

As it turned out, travelling was a lot less wearisome when done in the right company. Ezra grew comfortable with the two, teasing Yuin and cracking jokes, finding a stellar partner in crime in her as they constantly teamed up to pull pranks on Calem. He also found Calem to be an excellent match in conversation; he spoke seldom and he spoke softly, but he always had remarkable insight on any topic. With his mischief and intellect both satisfied, Ezra grew fond of his travelling companions.

After travelling together for more than a year, Yuin tired of constantly camping out in the wilderness, never knowing when their next meal would be or when they would next see a single hint of civilization. She wanted to settle down somewhere, maybe start a family. Yuin had apparently come from a large family, and she missed the bustle and noise that brought. Calem, of course, would stay with her no matter where they went, and Ezra had grown too attached and was reluctant to leave them. They eventually found a nice cranny in the windswept plateau to plant roots.

Yuin and Calem set up a small potions shop, Calem brewing what Yuin foraged. Ezra settled next door to them, opening up a cafe where he could brew all the coffee he wanted, thanks to the travelling merchants' route that passed quite close to their home.

Content with his life now, Ezra has become the designated 'listening ear' of the clan; whenever a clan member needs to vent or drink their sorrows away, they always seek out Ezra's cafe and complain to him over a drink. Conveniently for him, Ezra has now amassed a ton of blackmail material on most clan members, which he uses often to tease them or get his way in an argument. Despite his outwardly sly nature towards his clanmates, Ezra is quite fond of them and would lay his life out for any of them.
