She was originally a regular alchemist of the driftwood drag, who was sent to the Foxfire Brambles to study the crater of a comet that fell from the sky the night before. Her studies lead her to discover a new source of power and potential knowledge, closely resembling the Shade, but much more powerful and potent. A power that was capable of both creation and destruction. A perfect chaos with seeminlgly infinite energy.
She called it "The One".
During this time, she met Vraylar and convinced him of "The One"'s use.

After many years she found out, that "The One" actually consisted of two counterparts:
The Shade and The Chaos of Creation. Honerva managed to seperate these counterparts from each other and use their unique powers for herself.
And thus she began to do unnerving experiments, including testing it on some sick hatchlings which made them live longer than they naturally should. She then became obsessed with the the potential of immortality that the mysterious shade could give them. She lead her mate, Vraylar, into her obsession.

During her experiments, she "created" Ink a hatchling, that was born sick and weak, so his parents, believing him to be nothing more but a burden, left him to die. Honerva took the hatling in, and let the shade posess it. Her horrifying experiment did not stop there. She started to experiment on her own children, but none of them survived like her first one, Ink, did.
Or at least that's what she believed. Unkown to her, one of her Daughters, Tetai, managed to survive and rid herself of her mothers influence. She now lives a peaceful life, dedicated towards her true mother: The Shadowbinder.

Honerva herself was too focused on her experiments. After testing the Shade, she begann toying with the Chaos of Creation.
She found the ancient remains of the Labyrinth's former guardians: 5 Warriors of the Ancient Bonekeeper Tribe.
To her excitement she managed to revive them. Restoring them to their former prime. However, she did not expect them to maintain their own conciousnes.
The brave, ancient Warriors realized quickly that the one that brought them back was misusing the power of the Shade fragment they once swore to protect from falling into the wrong hands.
Fiercly they fought against the mad witch, but to no avail. Her power has grown too strong.
With ease Honerva imprisoned the brave warriors. But she would not give up to try and controll them. After all, they were ancient beasts with great powers, surely they could still be of use to her, right?
And so she continued her gruesome experiments. No longer on Hatchlings. But on these noble warriors....
