DESERTWIND

Personality:

She has a nasty attitude for such a small thing. The way Desertwind describes herself is 'I have a lot of rage because I'm so small'. The clan can't argue with her, however. She's one of the best adventurers that ever graced the clan. When it comes to charting unknown territory for the clan, trying to find treasure and other hidden valuables, as well as scouting out potential dragon-friendly familiars, Desertwind is the one the clan calls on. Her skills have done to her head, but only slightly. She knows she's good, but not the best there is. There is always something else to learn when she's out exploring the world, but generally speaking, she's pretty good at her job. So far, she has dragged back twice of what she is worth by just exploring the nearby clan grounds.

Despite her nasty attitude, Desertwind is a kind enough dragon. She won't deny someone assistance just because she can. Instead, she goes out of her way to help the other clan members when she's spending some time at home. She may cause a fuss, but the work will get done. She will never leave a fellow clan member hanging high and dry when they have to have assistance. After all, Karma is a very real thing to Desertwind, she never knows when she's going to need some help when she's out and about in strange lands. Not that any are stranger than Arcane territory. Desertwind hasn't seen so much pink in her life! She says the only reason she decided to settle down with the clan is because she hasn't explored the Arcane lands fully, but she actually just likes the color pink. There is nothing to be ashamed about with that, but she won't let her brothers know about her secret guilty pleasure in the world of colors.

When she is at home, Desertwind is more than happy to share some of her stories with those that ask. She loves spinning tales, twisting the truth just a bit to make things more interesting. She may have fled anti-dragon groups of Harpies in the Earth lands before, but she'll tell dragons that she fled a battalion of shade-posses monsters. Of course, she tells them this while she's happily nestled in her private den, reading one of the many books she has collected. While she looks tough on the outside, with plenty of scars decorating her back from sky-attacks, Desertwind loves looking her best. The way she says it, she can be a girly-girl and an in-your-face explorer. Her brothers would disagree, but there's a reason their working within clans, and not traveling like her, isn't there?

History:

Her love of traveling was in her heart when she was born. Her brother's and sisters had a love of working hard. The difference came from their parents. Her mother tended to be the one all her siblings flocked to. Desertwind can understand why. Her mother is a beautiful Lightning dragon with a lot of wisdom, but Desertwind preferred her father. The Wind dragon taught her the love of exploring. He was always out of the clan grounds, going to and from places. He always brought back treasures for his family, but the most precious of treasures was reserved for Desertwind. Gems, gold, small statues, dolls, puppets, clothing, everything! Desertwind began to fall in love with other parts of the world when her father showed her something even better than physical things. Maps and compasses and books. All the treasures of Wind dragons became her treasures too. Likewise, her love of traveling was born.

When her father went out of the clan grounds, Desertwind followed. The older she got, the farther she could fly with him. It got to the point where Desertwind wasn't even part of the old clan anymore, she was now a dragon without a home. She still traveled with her father when their paths crossed, but that became less and less of an occurrence. Her father was a little on the elderly side, so Desertwind decided it was best if she just went on her own. She didn't want to put her father in any danger. Her brothers constantly jeered at her when she would visit home. Calling her a wimp and the like. Desertwind couldn't help but feel bitter, but she was happy with her life. No one was going to take that away from her. Traveling, however, took its toll on her. Sometimes it would be good to have a place where she can go relax, a place where she can rest and enjoy her time when she doesn't want to go anywhere. More importantly, though, a place to hoard her treasures.

She went looking for a clan, a clan that wasn't her birth one. While she traveled, she came across several good clans, but none of them that would be good for her. They wanted her to stay in the clan grounds far too often, and her freedom would be ruined. She kept looking, until she came across a little clan in the Arcane lands. They didn't seem to mind if she left the clan grounds. As long as she came back and did some work she was free to do as she wished, so she made her home there. To this day, she spends an equal amount of time traveling around and staying at home, relishing in her books and maps, collecting more and more compasses. There isn't anything else she really wants. She even sends letters to her father sometimes, recalling her adventures.
