Yoon is demi-romantic grey-ace and hadn't been properly in love before. And pansexual Aurora is the most terrible flirt, like she will literally flirt with any dragon that seems willing. She was born a spiral, and some of that extreme level of energy still remains in her... But she was intrigued by Yoon and her quirky outsiderness (if you've read Harry Potter, think Luna Lovegood) and knew she had to start slower with this one.

And they gradually became friends, closer friends than either one of them had ever had before. (Yoon had always been too shy and self-sufficient to really get very friendly with anyone, and Aurora was always too outgoing with lots of shallow acquaintances and no real deep relationships.) Aurora's fascination with Yoon became full-on love, and Yoon fell in love too as she got to know Aurora. Now they're a steady couple, romantic friends-with-benefits kinda deal, and although Aurora still flirts around, they both know that the flirting is nothing serious. Aurora just won't settle mentally, but she certainly has settled emotionally with Yoon.
