Biography
Copper
Camp Guard
(Stationed by the edge of the camp as a last line of defense against intruders) "Hello again, friend of a friend I knew you when Our common goal was waiting for the world to end Now that the truth is just a rule that you can bend You crack the whip Shape-shift and trick The past again." -"Black Sheep", by Metric
Copper is neither particularly loyal or intelligent, but he is an excellent fighter. Recruited by the
Flickering Shadows in the early days of the clan, Copper is respected by all, but a friend of none - he prefers to keep company, instead, with his hoard of loot, won through many years of fighting, defending the territory. Despite his lack of true allegiance to the Flickering Shadows clan (something which Obsidian and Raspberry aren't pleased with, but accept), Copper is dedicated to defending the territory, as it contains all of his belongings, amassed over the many years he's lived here - a dragon would have more luck killing an emperor than threatening Copper's hoard.
Despite his lack of effort making and keeping friends, there are a few dragons welcome in his
den (where any others are driven out immediately): Crusade and Nealon. Copper tolerates Crusade's presence because there is much mutual respect between the two - they've been known to guard each others' back in large-scale battles, creating an unspoken truce. The two of them like to trade battle tactics and spar - a mutually beneficial trade. Nealon, on the other hand, seems to be an anomaly, as he holds no obvious value to the other. However, Copper allows Nealon to practice his trade (trinket-making) with his hoard - certainly a surprising allowance, considering Copper's extreme possessiveness. Nealon, though a little afraid of Copper (being younger and not inclined to fighting or aggression in general), is ecstatic to be allowed access to such a magnificent hoard, and uses the opportunity to his full advantage, making many unique items and perfecting numerous techniques as he goes. Copper, keeping whatever trinkets Nealon makes from his hoard, is pleased to have such one-of-a-kind items to call his own.
