You could say that Maniacoal got all of the unpleasant traits of his parents and none of the good ones. And you would be absolutely right. Maniacoal is not only Combustiere's first born, but the first born of the clan. This has gained him a MASSIVE - but largely unsurprising - amount of favor from Combustiere. He's terribly rude, but no one seems willing to tell him... Forever the archetypal bully, Maniacoal loves having a good laugh at the expense of others. He has a terribly volatile attitude, angering quickly and - unlike his father - staying angry for a long, long time. But when the going gets tough, Maniacoal gets more than going; he gets hell-bent. And as intolerable as he is, he would defend the clan with his life.
He is painfully fond of Meringue, the slow-witted Tundra, but he is loathe to be seen with her...especially when Ledra keeps him on such a tight leash (much to his chagrin). His fierce dislike for Ghoul keeps him largely out of clan politics.
