Biography

“The sons of House Marais are all sickly born.
Little wonder that Maleigh Marais would be so beguiled by the beautiful and fierce goddess who was born into rot. "

NOVREL CASALE
KIND - SOCIABLE - FICKLE - LAZY
Novrel, despite not seeming like so, is very much an outgoing dragon. As an upper-class dragon, he's grown up in parties and festivities and is most comfortable around others and in busy environments. He loves interacting and debating with others (especially about history) and is unable to concentrate when alone by himself
He likes to be appreciated and has a "don't do to others what you wouldn't want done to you" kind of mentality, so he tends to be kind and help those in need whenever he can
Novrel will not stop at anything if something he wants is on the line, and is quite strong-willed. If he's fixated on something there is no way for anyone to change his mind
Novrel has many interests and a habit of getting incredibly fixated on something for months at a time until he gets bored of it and drops it. Usually, it's about various kinds of knowledge or books or food, but he's known for doing this with basically any activity. This is likely due to the fact that having grown up in wealth, he pretty much had anything he wished for readily available. He hasn't really grown out of it yet, and he still takes most things for granted (and he's prone to grudges when those things aren't given to him)
If the occasion comes, he will never turn down the possibility of doing less work so that he can devote more time to his interests.

As a hatchling, Novrel never had to strive for anything. Despite how run-down Marrowood Castle may look, House Casale has always had money in piles. What the house missed, in fact, were heirs strong enough to survive being shadow dragons born in plague territory: Novrel was born as the fifth of his line, a sickly little hatchling who never knew any of his siblings, and while he was pampered and revered he had little to no interaction with his parents as they prepared themselves for his early death.

His only friends as he grew up were his teachers and tutors- Especially so the one that would teach him the long history of Marrowood. He found himself drawn to history and languages, and soon enough became a devout student. Despite everyone's expectations he reached adulthood without a hitch and soon succeeded his parents, taking to his new task incredibly well. He promoted his teacher as his steward and reigned alone as he had always been for a while...

Until a thief decided to steal from his hoard. Havoc, a wanderer originating from Hewn City, slipped beneath the guards' grasps and into Novrel's quarters in search of treasure and jewels, but instead found a very confused castellan- the guards were alerted, but she slipped away. The night after however, she came back, this time to visit. Something about this skydancer had interested her, and in turn he was impressed by her gall. It wasn't long before Havoc, from thief, became Novrel's personal guard, and then his wife (but not a lady, never a lady)

The two had just about settled with their twin son and daughter when another wanderer came stumbling in, lost and gravely injured. The two nursed her to health, listened to her story, and started spending more and more time with her until they realized they had both fallen for this stranger.
She eventually told them her name and her story and agreed to join them, even mothering the next child between them.

Right now, Novrel is happy. He has four healthy heirs, all the books he could want, and two strange, feisty wives.
